Lawnmower accidents involving children: Characteristics and suggested preventive measures

Although the absolute frequency of lawnmower accidents is low, children account for a relatively high proportion of the victims. We describe 16 children who were victims of lawnmower accidents between 2004 and 2016. Most of the accidents involved lower limb injuries, which were responsible for amputation and significant socioeconomic costs. We also propose preventative measures. (C) 2018 Elsevier Masson SAS.
