Distributed Hybrid Automata for Modeling and Performances Evaluation of a Multimodal Transportation System

Résumé

The main topic of this paper is to propose a Distributed Hybrid Automata (DHA) based approach to model, analyze and evaluate the performances of a Multimodal Transportation System (MTS). The studied MTS contains two exchange stations belonging each to a transportation mode (such as train in our case). The passengers exchange between these stations is ensured by bus shuttles. Considering the MTS functioning, it can be seen as a Hybrid Dynamical System (HDS). First of all, the DHA modeling approach of the MTS is presented. Afterwards, two concrete scenarios are studied in order to evaluate passengers waiting times within the two exchange stations. In addition, owing to the simulation results of the developed models, the impact of the number of used buses on the network and their initial distribution on the average passengers waiting times according to the period nature will be discussed.
