Résumé

This paper describes and investigates the performances of a new wind electric water pumping system. The proposed system includes a wind turbine, a permanent magnet synchronous generator, an AC/DC converter, a controlled DC/DC boost converter, a permanent-magnet DC motor and a centrifugal pump. First of all, the transient responses of the direct coupling system caused by sudden wind speed change have been investigated. Thereafter, the pumping system characteristics have been determined and it is shown that the system can be optimized compared to the direct coupling system. Two MPPT controllers based on Perturb & Observe and Fuzzy Logic have been tested and applied on the studied system in order to determine the appropriate MPPT algorithm. Simulation results verify the effectiveness of the proposed system and control algorithm.
