Les métamorphoses de Paul : Jolie princesse et vilain petit garçon

Abstract : This article retraces the psychotherapeutic treatment of a young boy with a facial deformity that disfigures him and impacts his psychoaffective development, as evidenced by his questions about his sexual identity and his double desire to undergo the restorative surgery wanted by his parents, but also to be loved as he is. The story of Snow White, the common thread of the sessions, allows the young patient to express his fantasies, his anxieties, and the reworking of his sexual theories. Indeed, the relationship between psychoanalysis and the tale or the myth turns out to be fruitful in a double way, as it is both representative and explanatory, and we use the theme of Ovidian metamorphoses to shed light on the psychic processes at work.
