Abstract : There is no consensus on the criteria for identifying children with High Intellectual Potential who have specific learning disorders (ex: dyslexia) in both researchers and clinicians. The purpose of this paper is to provide an overview of the professional knowledge and practices of speech language pathologists working with these children on a daily basis. It appears that they are still poorly identified by lack of knowledge and lack of consensus in the methodology for identifying specific learning disorders in gifted children.
