La clinique à l'épreuve des enjeux migratoires et culturels
Résumé
Based on two clinical cases of immigrants taken from their medical practice, the authors of this article show that the representations of the illness and care management of their home country are still very vivid in the minds of patients from their emigration. Therefore, the authors propose that in such situations, disease and suffering whether they are somatic or psychological should be explored taking into account the cultural realities of the patients concerned. The family should be an important element of the internal and external dynamics of suffering and considered as such. The value of an intercultural approach to coexistence with other approaches in a complementary and integrative dynamic appears essential for the success of the treatment.
