Abstract : This work is a descriptive and analytical approach, which aims to improve the knowledge of the structure and the dynamics of the wooded Atlas Mountains vegetation in the region of Tiaret. This study was based on 287 phytoecological surveys across the study area following a mixed sampling. These surveys were collected in data matrices and then processed by statistical analyzes (CH, AEI, DCA). The phytosociological approach highlights a great phytocoenotic richness (19 plant groups described including 4 new associations). The results obtained shown that the main gradients according to which these plant groups are organized are the physi-ognomic type and the chemical nature of the substrate. The dynamic succession of the different series of vegetation sampled, in particular the post-matorral one, is often blocked or degraded, or evolves towards artificial systems following the invasion by some opportunistic species characteristic of the ``expansionist'' model. These states seem to be the consequence of anthropogenic constraints, in particular fire and grazing \textcopyright 2020, Ecologia Mediterranea. All Rights Reserved.
